We are based out of both Pincher Creek and Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This
means the Bow River (Calgary) and Crowsnest, Castle and Oldman rivers (Pincher Creek) are literally in our "backyard",
and we are able to get to know these world-class trout streams intimately.
Calgary is a city of nearly 1 million people located approximately
a half hour east of the foot of the Rocky Mountains and an hour from beautiful Banff National Park. Home to
the world-famous Calgary Stampede, the Calgary Zoo, and many other attractions, Calgary is a vibrant city with a
great standard of living. Most importantly to us, however, the blue ribbon Bow River and her numerous trophy brown and rainbow
trout flows right through town. We are only a short 2 hour drive to the Crowsnest Pass and just 3 hours to Waterton National
Park and about 4 hours to Jasper National Park. Plan on visiting these world famous parks during your stay in Alberta
as the scenery is amazing. Check out our Links page for all kinds of links for Calgary and area!
Pincher Creek is a small
town of 4000 or so located right at the base of the Rocky Mountains in SW Alberta. The stream of Pincher Creek flows
through town, but the real attraction is its proximity to Waterton National Park and the Oldman River drainage. The Lower
Oldman is only 10 minutes from our door, some of our favourite stretches of the Crowsnest River are only 15 minutes away,
and the numerous cutthroat of the Oldman and her tributaries are less than 30 minutes to the W by NW. Pincher Creek is known
as the "Center of Adventure" for good reason--it's just a short drive to the breathtaking beauty of Waterton and only minutes
from the Castle and Oldman rivers as well as being just east of the Crownsest Pass off Hwy 3. It is literally surrounded by
outstanding trout streams and stillwaters.
You've probably seen our backyard without knowing it, as the area surrounding Pincher Creek has graced
the silver screen as the location for numerous big-name movies, including Legends of the Fall, Brokeback Mountain,
Broken Trail, and numerous other westerns.
Come join us for a day or better yet a multi-day trip, and you'll see why we've chosen to live in
this paradise! :)
